Nintendo opts for cosy approach at Games Convention
In a chat with CVG Nintendo has announced its intentions to exhibit a muted presentation style at this year’s Leipzig Games Convention in Germany, plumping for intimate tours of its wares rather than the glitzy presentations that Microsoft and Sony are opting for.
“We are not doing a traditional conference as before,” Nintendo revealed to the British-based gaming website today. “We are instead doing more intimate media tours at the show. Someone from Nintendo Germany will take you round the booths and show you the games, letting you play them and answering any questions that you may have,” they added.
Nintendo’s decision comes in the wake of its E3 2006 (and continued) mantra of ‘playing is believing.’ The representative went onto explain that through more intimate briefings, everyone would get a fair chance to experience Nintendo’s offerings as well as being able to answer questions as they went along.
It’s an interesting strategy, so we’ll just have to judge by the press reception afterwards as to whether Nintendo’s ‘against the grain’ approach will have paid off.
Stick with Nintendic for coverage of the event between August 23 and August 26.
