Mercury Meltdown Revolution rolls into US at budget price
Ignition Entertainment has announced that North American Wii owners will be able to pick up the slippy-slidy, goopy and enjoyable Mercury Meldown Revolution on September 25 for a measly $19.99 USD. The fourth entry in the series, Revolution offers a new experience thanks to the Wii Remote’s motion sensing capabilities.
“With over 2 years of franchise development, we’ve really taken the time and perfected the blob physics, enhanced the graphics and created an extremely compelling experience that’s a perfect fit on the Wii,” said Ken Gratz, Director of Product Development. “We’ve finally found a video game system that would allow us to fully realize our vision and passion for the Mercury games.”
If you’ve never played Mercury Meltdown, think of it as a little bit like a more puzzle-orientated Marble Madness. Gamers must use the Wii Remote to tilt and flow the mercury blob around levels filled with treacherous turns and obstacles, while solving logic-based teasers along the way.
“The Wii Remote is a perfect complement to Mercury’s gameplay. Tilting the Wii Remote to guide your mercury blob through the challenging mazes is extremely satisfying,” continues Vicki White, Sales Director. “On top of the 150-plus levels, we’ve added loads of mini-games that create a great deal of fun for the whole family! Mercury Meltdown Revolution is an essential title for gamers to have in their library at an outstanding value.”
The title (which was released in Europe this June) was received warmly by critics, so if you’re after something that’ll fill the time nicely between September and the bonanza of A-listers hitting Wii at Christmas, Meltdown might just be worth a punt.
