Manhunt 2 WILL see US release

After being slammed with an ‘Adults Only’ rating by the ESRB in North America, chances of Rockstar Games’ Manhunt 2 seeing a release in the region were looking unlikely unless it toned down its gruesome nature. It must’ve done so, because the developer has today announced that Manhunt 2 is to receive a US release, reports Cubed3.

Yessss!

“Manhunt 2 is important to us, and we’re glad it can finally be appreciated as a gaming experience. We love the horror genre. Manhunt 2 is a powerful piece of interactive story telling that is a unique video game experience. We think horror fans will love it,” explained Sam Houser, founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games.

“Manhunt 2 is an extraordinary game, and we eagerly anticipate its release in North America,” added Strauss Zelnick, Chairman of Take-Two, the game’s publisher.

Of the few press copies that snuck out of Rockstar’s studio, Manhunt 2 was reviewed very favourably indeed, so we for one are certainly glad of today’s news. It’ll hit shelves for the Nintendo Wii in the US this October. However, whether other regions will also grant the controversial software’s release are not yet known.

pffft…these companies can’t tell me there aren’t enough people over 18 to justify having an AO title.
