Need for Speed ProStreet dated for Halloween release
Electronic Arts has announced that Need for Speed ProStreet will be racing onto the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS on October 31 and November 1 in North America and Europe respectively. The latest of the developer’s boy racer-em-ups tasks players to build the suped up car of their dreams before pitting their wits against rival drivers – an original concept, no?
Said Executive Producer of Need for Speed ProStreet Larry LaPierre:
“The Need for Speed franchise has always been on the cutting edge of car culture. Street racing is getting more organized and Need for Speed ProStreet is our interpretation of where we anticipate the culture to be in three to five years. We’re delivering on the ultimate proving ground, bringing you out of your neighbourhood back alleys and on to the world stage. This is a next-gen game, packed with the raw intensity and visceral aggression that defines street racing at the highest level.”
Need for Speed ProStreet is described as a “racing experience like no other” (they obviously haven’t battled it out against OAPs in shopmobility scooter races in Swansea city centre), allowing players to design their motors from scratch before proving their worth at some of the world’s most iconic street racing locations. Four distinct racing styles are on offer - grip, drag, drift and a speed challenge.
Like Need for Speed efforts in recent years, we’re sure it’ll sell by the bucket load regardless of quality… but of course, we’re reserving judgement.
